Drew Goodall is able to live happily by making £250,000 every year as a result of the success of his Sunshine Shoeshine company. It has completely employed homeless people and those with special needs.
Every person has to go through with hard times to live a good life. Therefore, Drew lives an especially charmed life because he has gone through with so many hard situations in his life.
When he was passing his twenties, he was on the edge of a promising growing career in film after securing roles in blockbusters such as Snatch and About a Boy, starring Hugh Grant. However, after some time the work started drying up due to cruel reviews, as a result of that Drew began to run out of money. However, He promised himself that he would not to go back to his parents’ home as he felt that if he did he would be admitting that his dream was dead. Sadly, even though he made that decision, he had nowhere else to go, so he was forced onto the streets for six months.
Initially, he was on the streets of London which were very cruel. He was begging for food as a result of anxious survival. He was also sleeping in cardboard boxes and the violence imposed on him by drunks and other homeless people.
In order to earn some money, Drew thought to give a service to the so often apathetic Londoners who walked past him every day. What he did was, He polished shoes and offered the service to London’s affluent business community, all the while sensibly escaping the police who are known to liberally use hawking laws to penalize homeless people in the most well to do areas of the city.
When the 6 months has passed, one of his best customers recommended that Drew could arrange a tiny shop in the lobby of his office. This was the first step for Drew to make more money in order to get away from the streets.
So after some time, Drew decided to increase his one-man operation into a good business, he named it as Sunshine Shoeshine which branched out in office places across the city of London, his employs are almost all of who have experienced homeless or who have special needs. He also donates a proportion of his personal salary to charity. Drew teaches us that Positivity, confidence, and persistence are key in life.
Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen… yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.
